PICK THE RIGHT BREED FOR YOU!

WE SPECIALIZE IN 2 BREEDS THAT ARE TRAVEL FRIENDLY COMPANIES. HOWEVER, EACH BREED IS SPECIAL AND UNIQUE IN THEIR OWN WAYS. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES OF THE BREEDS BELOW.

DACHSHUND

Dachshunds are known for their bold, loyal, and sometimes stubborn nature. They’re intelligent and alert, making them good watchdogs despite their size. They can be affectionate and playful, but they often have a strong independent streak. They adapt well to apartments or houses, as long as they get enough mental and physical stimulation. Stairs should be limited or blocked off—jumping or climbing too often can strain their long backs. A couple of short walks and some playtime each day keep them happy.

BerneDoodle

A Bernedoodle is a charming hybrid breed—a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle—known for its intelligence, loyalty, and affectionate personality. They often have a wavy or curly coat that’s low- to non-shedding, in colors like black, white, and brown (tri-color is especially loved). Their coats require regular grooming, as they can mat easily. They adapt well to different spaces, but medium to large homes with yards are ideal for standard Bernedoodles. Minis and toys can do well in apartments if they get enough exercise.

About Me

TKOsCanines Owner

Growing up i constantly found myself drawn to sharing life with my 4 legged companions. So it was no surprise my passion would continue on to adulthood. Wanting to embrace every moment i could with my 2 legged children I found it even more rewarding to be able to share my passion for animals with my family and friends. With each new phase of life a new breed adapted to our ever changing lifestyles. Starting 20 years ago with a life long passion to own an English bulldog my breeding journey began. The love and laughter they brought to our world was endless. As my 2 legged children grew we needed a breed with a bit more energy to keep up with the boys and French bulldogs gladly filled that void. Their oomy zoomies and care free, energetic personalities brought and even brighter smile to our hearts for 16 years. As the children have begun to flourish in their own independence my heart was drawn to a breed that had less health concerns and ease for traveling. Our focus then shifted from bulldogs to the miniature world of dachshunds. Having grown up with one myself as a child it was second nature to own them once again. What started as a mid-life crisis filling our farm with spotted animals , soon shifted our family pack with the purchase of miniature dachshunds. These fun loving, snuggle bugs quickly stile our heart and we began the journey of sharing with others. With life still feeling like my family wasn't whole with all the outgoing personalities around me, I for once found myself drawn to a much more feminine, soft spoken and softer feel of life with the Bernedoodles. I have never been much for one with the desire to have a dog of high maintenance, the soft wavy coats had me hesitant until i personally owned one. The Bernedoodles to me are the complete package for our family with stunning looks, intellectual brains and just enough "extra" fluff  you cant resist snuggling in with them.
